We encourage anyone interested in helping to come on down. Even if you aren't a part of the club, feel free to come down and give a hand. It will take a community effort to preserve the natural habitats that we have left. |

Welcome to the Metropolitan Herpetological Society |

The Metropolitan Herpetological Society is a Staten Island based reptile club that will be meeting on the 3rd Monday night of each month at Blue Heron Park Nature Center. The club is dedicated to the proper care & husbandry and conservation of reptiles and amphibians.
The meetings will include guest speakers of different varieties. Guest speakers will include knowledgeable and respected people from the herpetological community, as well as breeders and veterinarians. There will also be guided field trips.
As reptile enthusiasts, we have a few goals: To educate the public about reptiles and amphibians, their proper care, husbandry, conservation, and importance they have in our ecosystem. The lectures that will take place at each meeting will revolve around these topics. We also hope to make the Staten Island community aware of the importance of conserving the native species that have diminished greatly due to habitat destruction and pollution.
