Crested Geckos 1 Year, 6 Months ago Karma: 0
I just acquired two juvenile crested geckos that are too small to be sexed. I keep them together in a 29 gallon aquarium with two live pothos plants and they get along fine. If they should turn out to be of the same sex do I need to be concerned with aggression when they mature? Any feed back is appreciated.

Keeping together before they reach maturity will be fine. But once they reach maturity the best thing would be to separate them. Even though there isn't a female present for them to fight over, one will still set dominance over another. That can prove fatal to the less dominant crested. I had the same problem with my pictus geckos. I had very small hatchlings, and as they grew it wasn't easy to tell the sex right away because they were still small. I was sure I had a male and female, but the third one was 50/50. I soon realized it was a male when the sure male started bullying him and bit off his tale. It was too late to save the little guy and I ended up losing him. So I would advise to separate them sooner than later. It is better to be safe then sorry.
